A local charitable organization is planning a “Day of Service” for September 17, 2011, in the West Salem (first priority) and Salem areas.
They are seeking contact information at the earliest possible date (Name, Address, Phone Number) of individuals and families that would benefit from an effective 5 to 15 hours of “kindness service” on or about their home, such as yard clean up, painting, fence repair, or the like.
Each household would have anywhere from two to five individuals (or more, if needed) to address the required work in a two to four hour period, thus the 5 to 15 hours of “effective service”.
Have any clients / family / friends who could use this helping hand?
Submit your project suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org. The “service” to be provided is totally free and without any strings or expectations attached.
They want to do something wonderful for our community, and I’m hoping they get lots of takers!

Hello to all of my fellow Salem, Albany & Corvallis Community Members!
I am so excited to announce our next First Story project. We are going to be building a home for a very deserving family here in Albany at our Edgewater community. First Story will be building six Grant houses during 2011, one house built in each of regions Hayden Homes builds in.
I encourage you to visit http://www.firststory.org/ for a first hand glance at what this wonderful organization has done to change the lives for families all over the Pacific Northwest.
Get your non-profit sales/construction hats on everyone because we have a lot of fun ahead of us!!! We will need to raise $30,000 dollars before we are able to start construction of this home in our community. I have attached an application for a deserving family so please pass this along to anyone you may know who could befit form this home. There is also an every brink counts donation form so please help this community cause and pass this along to all of your contacts. With your support First story will be able to provide a new home to a family in our Community.
Please let me know if you have any questions,

Everyone deserves access to homeownership, and focusing on first-time homebuyers is a great source of business for lenders and realtors. Sometimes a slight drop in the monthly house payment is all an individual needs to qualify to purchase their first home.
These forums are a collaboration involving the State of Oregon, Oregon Association of Realtors, USDA Rural Development, and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
Join other local attendees to:
• Learn about the Neighborhood Stabilization Program funding and how it can help stabilize housing in your community

• Learn about available down payment assistance programs that can help you qualify first-time homebuyers
• Share your challenges and successes in helping homebuyers become homeowners
• Discover the resources offered by your local housing center and how you can collaborate with them to increase homeownership
